* Plot Informaton for Scelt

Scelt is a Territory in turmoil and peace is tenuously held together by the Sceltic Queens. Rivalry between the Clans errupted into horror for the Territory that resulted in many dead, on both sides, and culimated in Clan Sheane being outlawed in the Territory. Further troubles plague the Territory in a variety of manners - Landen villages are raided, Courts are attacked, and no one seems to be safe.

Provinces, Districts & Tuathal

Scelt
The Territory of Scelt is a rugged island Territory off the east coast of the mainland Kaeleer continent. The native population, referred to as Sceltic, have strong and rugged characteristics that match their Territory. The coastline of the Territory is particularly rugged and there are few ports in the Territory, with rare coves that allow for visitors to come ashore.

The Territory is split into 3 Provinces: Kilvary to the north, Denford to the south, and Tramore in the middle. Within each of the Provinces are 2 Districts. Villages have grown organically around the Clan Keeps and Castles that dot the land. The capital of Scelt is Tuathal, located on the border of the Denford and Tramore Provinces.

Kilvary Province
The Kilvary Province of Scelt is the roughest and most beautiful within the Territory. It covers the northern coastline of the Territory and is full of mountains, cliffs and fields. It's lush green meadows and pastures cover the countryside along with dense forests and small villages. Though it is the most beautiful of the Provinces it is also the Province most destroyed by strife. It is the least inhabited of the provinces but also has been the home to a long line of Killan Queens. Kilvary, due to the rich history of Queens who have ruled within the Province, is a quite fertile Provinces.

Ruler of the Kilvary Province:
Honora Devlin, Yellow to Rose Queen

Former Rules of Kilvary:
  • Aidan Devlin, Summer Sky to Green Warlord Prince
  • Daveil Killan, Rose to Opal Queen
  • Liam Devlin, Summer Sky to Green Warlord Prince

Ruler of Loch Cairne: Liam Devlin, Summer Sky to Green Warlord Prince   Ruler of Glencoe: TBD
The Loch Cairne District is heavily dominated by lush green fields and fertile farm land. It is best known for it’s large lake for which it is named, Loch Cairne, and the number of additional lakes throughout the District. The District has particularly thrived under the attention of the Killan Queens when it comes to agriculture but also it’s people. Loch Cairne is the most fertile of Scelt’s districts and produces a high percentage of Scelt’s agricultural goods.   The Glencoe District is located in the southern half of the Kilvary Province, and is notably marked by high craggy mountains. It is often referred to as the Highlands of Scelt. This rugged terrain has been home to many of Scelt’s more infamous and famous clans. Though the land is tended by the Queens the steep hills of the Highlands have little use when it comes to agriculture and are instead used to raise Highland Cattle and Sheep

Tramore Province
The Tramore Province of Scelt is the center Province, bordered by both Kilvary to the north and Denford to the south. Their geographical placement between the two warring Territories has made Tramore uncomfortable and forced to take a neutral stance. The Province itself is situated between the large mountain range at it’s northern border and is primarily made up of low, hilly land that is not particularly fertile. It is a rough Territory with poor soil for agriculture, but has been a popular tourist destination for the beautiful terrain, coastline and neutral status.

Ruler of the Tramore Province:
Blodwen Lyons, Summer Sky to Purple Dusk Queen

Former Rules of Tramore:
  • TBD

Ruler of Dunkirk: TBD   Ruler of Portraine: TBD
The Dunkirk District is located to the eastern side of the Tramore Province. The natural beauty of the rough sea cliffs on that coast have drawn tourists to view their beauty and it is the primary source of revenue for the poor District. Of all Scelt’s Districts Dunkirk historically has been the poorest District and suffer from the seasonality of their tourism. Due to the difficulties in this District it has become the breeding grounds for mercenary groups, or worse, brigands.   The Portraine District is located to the western side of the Tramore Province and encompasses the large Isle of Tiree; Tiree has traditionally been known among the Sceltic people as the “Isle of Peace”. Portrane has focused it’s agricultural efforts in growing potatoes, which has proven to be a sound investment for the District. They also sustain a healthy number of cattle and sheep on their lands. Portraine has also had great success in the production of whiskey; and are considered to be the best supplier in all of Kaeleer.

Denford Province
The Denford Province of Scelt is the most densely populated of the Provinces and highly fertile. The plains of the southern portion of the Province have historically produced the majority of the Territory’s food. It is the flattest of the Provinces and has the most usable ports within the Territory, though it’s distance from the mainland of Kaeleer has made those ports less desirable than the ones located in Kilvary or Tramore. The people of Denford are quite proud and often hold a grudge against the northernmost Province of Kilvary. There are several Clans within Denford who have clung to the native tongue of Scelt, a language on the verge of extinction, called Gaelg.

Ruler of the Denford Province:
Taryn Kerry, Yellow to Summer Sky Queen

Former Rules of Denford:
  • Eirne Sheane, Rose to Purple Dusk Queen

Ruler of Wexol: TBD   Ruler of Athol: Ayla Kerry, White to Tiger Eye Queen
The District of Wexol is best known for it’s shipbuilding prowess. It is responsible for the majority of the ships within the Sceltic navy, and those owned by Sceltic traders. The ships are best known for their sturdy builds and strength in troubled seas. Wexol contains several of Scelt’s most usable ports, but is inconveniently located on the southeastern most point of the island.   The District of Athol is the most heavily populated District within the Territory. It’s primarily known for it’s fishing industry which provides Scelt with the majority of it’s fish. Additionally the land is incredibly fertile and Athol is also known for it’s agricultural offerings. The people of Athol are incredibly friendly, warm and outgoing. And the lines between Clans are blurred, especially compared to some of the Highland Clan mentality from the Kilvary Province.

Tuathal
Tuathal is the Capital City of Scelt. Tuathal covers several hills with valleys throughout, and a river running through the very heart of the city. It sits against the ocean and maintains a small, but efficient, harbor within the Territory. No single clan claims the capital city of Scelt but all have a presence within the city walls.

The city has maintained the old architecture which has given it a unique charm. The city has built upon itself for so many years that it has lost entire streets to the sub architecture of the city. Beneath the beautiful and immaculate streets of Tuathal there is a darker underground city.

Tuathal cannot compare to Goth or Amdarh but has managed to stand out as it’s own hub of sophistication within Kaeleer. It is home to several renowned theatres, fine restaurants, art galleries, and high street shopping.

The Queen traditionally maintains a residence at Tuathal Castle in the center of the city; a well fortified structure that has stood for thousands of years of Sceltic history. The present Queen, Loreniel Killan, maintains Tuathal Castle as the Queen but she spends the majority of her time at her ancestral property known as the Killan Estates. Though the Court of Scelt officially convenes at Tuathal Castle at least once a month, they manage much of the actual work out of Killan Estates.
