* Plot Informaton for Scelt

Scelt is a Territory in turmoil and peace is tenuously held together by the Sceltic Queens. Rivalry between the Clans errupted into horror for the Territory that resulted in many dead, on both sides, and culimated in Clan Sheane being outlawed in the Territory. Further troubles plague the Territory in a variety of manners - Landen villages are raided, Courts are attacked, and no one seems to be safe.

Personality

Personality:
Daimh is a personality much like the land he loves so much. He can be stoic and rough around the edges, but once someone gets to know him they will find that he has a gentle side that can provide a fertile ground for friendship.

Daimh received the nickname Auroch from his mother at a young age. Stubborn and confident, he is not one to run over others but once his mind is made up there is little that will change it. He enjoys the wilds, the sea and the outdoors as he is someone who lives to test his strength. Climbing a cliff face, or helping to break the rocks and rough terrain that make the land only fit for those who are hardy gives him a chance to prove his strength without resorting to violence.

Daimh has a volatile temper, a hallmark of his caste but one he also embraces. The fury of the killing edge can give a man strength, and Daimh is not one to shy or flinch from violence if it is called for.

Like many Sceltish, he also enjoys festivals, music and drink. Living as a raider, and tweaking the noses of other clans can easily cut a life short, so Daimh intends to drink, dance and bed the pleasures life has to offer. He is generous, known to blow through a windfall quickly because he sees little point in hoarding. If he has a sudden rush of marks, he will buy good food and drink for those around him, knowing many will likely do the same when their luck runs good.

Daimh also wrestles with a darker side of his own nature. Perhaps that is why he has kept himself as more of a wandering rover, a man who is burying himself in the joy of life. Daimh has found that he harbors a heart that can run to savagery. In battle, he has fallen into a dark mood that enjoys the maiming and damaging of opponents. Breaking Jewels, finishing the Kill, even amputating a foe's limb when simply subduing them would be enough.

This darker side, is a big reason he so often challenges himself against the wilds or other feats of strength. Perhaps the right woman could help him tame it, but for now he keeps himself facing down challenges and other bouts of adventure to keep the savagery from overtaking him.

Likes:
  • 1 Carousing. Daimh knows that the life of a raider, the life of a clansmen can be cut short with little warning. Conflict, challenges in the games, or even war can kill or maim. So while he is fit, able bodied and alive he intends to partake of all he can. If he has drink, his friends do as well, and if they greet the dawn with a hangover, its a small price to pay.
  • 2 Physicality. Daimh enjoys being strong. As a Green Jeweled Warlord Prince he grew up knowing others feared him. While he does not enjoy their fear, he does enjoy being known for strength. And so he enjoys testing himself in the games, against the wilds and in wrestling or bouts with others as well.
  • 3 Women. Daimh enjoys his lovers. He has yet to find someone who called him to serve or to settle down. But for now he has always found willing bed partners, and he enjoys their company. But not just those who warm his bed, he is found of a night of dancing or a good meal spent with a sharp minded woman. Women of the Blood have an allure, a strength that he enjoys and savours.
Dislikes:
  • 1 War. Daimh enjoys a good fight, and he has been known to help plan a raid on cattle if for no other reason than to liven up cold winter nights. But the truth of war is much different. It kills too many good men and women, further weakens the land and is something he would rather see avoided.
  • 2  Picking on the Weak. Daimh has no respect for those who see their strength as a reason to bully those weaker than them. While it is true that the Blood possess a wide range of strengths and talents, the Darkness no doubt intended for that to happen. The strong should challenge the strong, to help prevent abuses and other ills.
  • 3 Greed. The sins of Greed are everywhere for Daimh to see. The farmer who decimates his pasture by trying to force it to feed more cattle than it should, or the children going hungry in the streets because a merchant wants more silks. The winds and travellers carry news of what is going on in other Realms as well. Hard work deserves reward, but there is enough for your own comfort without hoarding.
Fears:
  • 1 Permanent Injury. Daimh knows that much can go wrong in life. A slip on the cliffs can break bones or an enemy can cut you deeply. But one of the things he fears is to be crippled or maimed. The idea of having your body shattered, render useless and a thing to be pitied, that is a fate he cannot imagine.
  • 2 Outlaw. Daimh saw what happened to Clan Sheane, and the punishment their foul deeds brought about. But to see that Clan, banished and exile, turned into little more than outlaws in the woods; hunted and stalked made him fear that other clans could suffer that fate.
  • 3 Becoming Bestial. Daimh has always contended with a dark side. When he fights, he falls into a rage and a need to overcome those who threaten him. While not unusual for his Caste, Daimh wrestles with instincts that he feels go beyond the pale. There are days when a dark tide overtakes him, and in battle he finds himself going beyond what is needed. Finishing the kill, burning an enemies Jewels to ensure they cannot become Demon Dead, maiming and or leaving his opponents Broken when he simply could have subdued them. Each time he goes into excess, he feels a rush of power and savagery, and Daimh wonders if perhaps one day he will not make it back to balance.
Craft Strengths:
  • 1 Power Bolts: Daimh can fire his power bolts with lethal speed and accuracy. He’s gotten the drop on enemies by getting a shot off before they can raise a shield, or in the heartbeats between the breaking of one shield and the conjuring of another.
  • 2 Enhanced Battle Craft. Daimh has spent much of his youth training for battlefields. As a raider, he has often faced multiple opponents intent on harming him. To that end, he has worked hard to practice his attacks and defenses to face more than one enemy.
Craft Weaknesses:
  • 1 Incite Rage. Daimh is not entirely certain why he has so little success in enraging others. He has never had much success with this aspect of a Warlord Prince's Craft, and in his darker moments he worries about the failure not being able to stoke the flames of the men around him might cause.
  • 2 Preservation Spells. Daimh has no success with these sorts of Craft. He cannot prevent items from spoiling, and his attempts to do so as he was learning his Craft often had the adverse effect. Meat he tried to seal would spoil, the grain would mold and rot.
Life Story

Family:
Mother: Brighid Collins, 50 (Priestess) Rose - Summer Sky
Father: Adain Collins, 54 (Warlord Prince) Purple Dusk - Sapphire
Siblings: Peyton Collins, 34 (Witch) Rose - Opal, Maren Collins 26 (Witch) Tiger Eye - Rose

History:
Daimh was his father’s pride growing up. His father loved his daughters and wife, but when the volatile temper of a Warlord Prince got too much, his wife was often forced to shelter the girls. As time went on, and his father lived in a house full of women, he had long despaired of finding someone to teach, someone to learn to swing a blade and defend the women of the family once he was gone. As each of his older sisters came back from their Offerings with lighter jewels, his family prepared for their marriages.

However, when Daimh received a Purple Dusk as his Birthright and it became apparent that he was a Warlord Prince, his father found a kindred spirit in his son. As a child, Daimh was given a weapon to train with as soon as he could build the strength to wield one. His father kept him buried with chores, wood splitting and tending the animals; all with an eye towards building a son that was fit, strong and one with the land.

Daimh was raised to be a strong and proud Sceltish Warlord Prince. Fine trainers were brought in to teach him weapons and Combat Craft. His Mother ensured he was well drilled in Protocol and Etiquette because all hoped he would descend to a Dark Jewel at his Offering. As he approached adolesence, his father often brought him to Court, where Daimh trained and served with the other guards. His father hoped to convince his son to serve as a Guard, or perhaps to aspire to escorting a Healer or Priestess.

But those dreams never truly came to fruition. Daimh had a savage streak, a streak that enjoyed bloodletting and the thrill of combat. As Daimh grew older, there was often the chance to join cattle raids from some of the Landen and weaker Blood farmers; raids where Daimh was quick to take to the front lines. The rush of combat, the strength and ferocity it brought out in him was something Daimh has never forgotten, though he would admit that he is loath to see the horrors of war unleashed on Scelt. His trainers taught him of battles in other realms, that he would learn of tactics and the part of fighting that had little to do with the brawny strength of his arm.

Another avenue Daimh was channelled into by his mother was that of the games. At the clan gatherings, she was quick to steer him into the games to help keep a Warlord Prince’s volatile temper in check. With his afternoons full of races, climbing, tossing rocks and other demonstrations of strength; Daimh soon found he enjoy the challenge and victory over others. As well, the tough and well definied physique that these activites gave him, helped win the regard of many young Witches, which had it’s own rewards he learned.

As Winter approaches, Daimh knows that the time for raiding and such will soon be over. Part of him has watched as some of the other young Collins men look towards mercenary work as a chance to see the world, or keep their blood up. He hasn’t decided yet, but he feels like Scelt is calling him to stay, that there is enough to fight for in the realm of his birth that he doesn’t need to leave.

Character in Play:
“Damn it man, you keep quiet back there. If I hear another branch snap, I’ll wring your neck myself,” cursed Owain as the group of men stopped. They had been moving through the stream that separated the two pastures, but of course Sean couldn’t be bothered too.

Probably afraid to get his dainty new boots wet, thought Daimh sourly as he thought of the effeminate young man, and his penchant for fine clothes. It made little sense to Daimh why anyone would dress up, unless you needed to appear at Court or escort one of the women in your family, the warm woollen wraps and a stout shirt were all you needed.

Daimh knew his aural shield would have kept the sound from travelling to far, that and the sound of the water as it tumbled it’s ways over the rocks, but it never paid to be too sloppy.

“Oh relax, it’s not like anyone’s going to hear, or who would care if they even did. We are going to lay wreaths on their door, not steal their prize bull,” muttered Sean as he did his best to both lean against a tree, and not dirty his good jacket.

“Don’t be an idiot Sean, the whole reason we do this is because it’s fun, and a challenge. Besides, the women like to be surprised. If it was just as easy as marching up bold as brass, and giving them a dance; well where is the fun in that,” said Daimh with a grin. He’d knew a particularly lively dancer at this farm, and he had hoped that he would get a turn or two on the dance floor with her.

Keeping his shields tight, he decided to break away from Sean and his idiocy, and so Daimh made his way slowly and patiently through the cleared pasture. The moon was dim, which was lucky and he chuckled to himself as he passed a couple of snoring youths. Clearly their father had not thought them ready for a little fun, and instead had set them to watch for young bulls out to test themselves.

As he neared the houses, he shook his head when the others stumbled over the short row of fence stones. No doubt some of the boys had taken to drinking, a way to fight off the chill of the night; but as witchlights began to spring up around the gate, Daimh realized the rest of his group were caught.

As the ruckus continued, Daimh took advantage and dashed to the nearest house. He wasn’t sure if it was the one he was hoping for, but he would be damned if he didn’t at least try. As he was preparing to nail the wreath to the door, a sudden weave of Craft took the wreath from his hands. Startled, he looked up and saw the smiling face of Else. “I didn’t want nails in my door, but don’t worry. I’ll see that the girls know who managed to leave one. Now off with you before you wake the babes, and before my husband realizes the count is one short,” she said with warmth and humour in her voice.

“Thank you Else. And save a dance for me too,” called Daimh with a wink and a little swagger as he dashed off, making his way into the pasture before he called to the winds and traveled home.

Ready for first review, and if the Collins information could be checked as well.

Don't want to have a cattle raider, if that's not something they do :)
