Distinguishing Features:  The only notable feature to Nasrin’s form is a scar received within the last few years that slices down from her forehead to, over her right eye, and down her cheek.  It was not deep enough to cut into her eye or eyelid.  Normally, Nasrin likes to use makeup to make the scar look like something else, sometimes a sword, other times a feather, or some other fun and playful design.

Personality

Personality:
The first thing anyone learns of Nasrin and her personality is that she is literally a ball of walking sunshine and rainbows.  It isn't that she's naive, she's had sex, been used for sex, killed and fought to not be killed.  It's that despite all of that, she sees the best in everyone and everything around her.  She is overly friendly, hugging when first meeting people, always willing to help others or listen to their problems.  She is what optimists wish they could be.
While she may have made herself as a man in the eyes of Pruulian society for what could be the wrong reasons, she legitimately loves her place in it.  The camaraderie she shares with the other men, the tasks that are expected of her, all have settled around her with a familiarity that just feels right.  She has never felt more alive then when fighting or training.  She doesn't go out of her way to cause violent situations to happen, but she is eager for them when they come across her path.  A new chance to test herself, a new opportunity to be one with a foe, where nothing in the world matters but each other and the weapons they both wield.  It's almost as good as sex to her.
That being said, she always giggles in excitement and glee anytime anyone calls her 'Lord'.
In the past, Nasrin has gotten in trouble for playing little practical jokes, or never taking anything seriously.  In her adulthood, that has only continued.  A consummate mischief maker and clown, these often blow up in her face.  Whenever her shenanigans end up coming back on her, she takes it all with a laugh and a grin that clearly shows she didn't learn a damn thing about what she did.  Only the desire to try the prank again with a different plan to make it work the way she wanted.
Behind the facade and core of her personality, Nasrin feels alone.  Having been given up as a child and raised by a family that didn’t care for her, she desperately craves to find somewhere where she feels belonged and loved.  There are some nights she secretly wishes she were actually a male so a Queen could look at her and claim her as their own.  She’s turned this desire for finding a place that she can’t find into an intense wanderlust.  Always travelling and moving in the hopes that whatever was beyond the horizon would be the place that calls to her lonely heart.
Despite being a Warlord, Nasrin actually hates killing.  Violence is a normal part of everyday life, the struggle to stay alive.  Yet killing seems wrong to her.  Her heart and soul are filled with the joys of life and the desire to see and experience everything she can.  She would rather give everyone a life full of new experiences, then take a life away.  Even in battle, she tries to avoid killing another.  As she is often heard saying, “Taking the Water of another’s life is like snuffing out a candle, making the world a little darker.”

Likes:
  • Training - out of every aspect of her life, the one place where Nasrin feels at peace is when she’s practicing her combat forms.  As she runs through her drills, which she does every day and night at sunrise and sunset to clear her mind and prepare herself for the trials to come.
  • Games - if even for a few hours, games bring people together in a way that no other event can.  Festivals or Rituals, everyone is in their own little bubble enjoying the event.  Even when the Tribes get together for communal eating, it's always pockets of families or friends eating together, but never sharing in one group.  Games, on the other hand, no matter what kind, ALWAYS bring people together for fun.  Even if they are games of chance and involve betting.  The raucous laughter of winning hands, or the commiseration of a bad roll, the entire group shared in the events together.  It is that sort of togetherness that Nasrin craves, and she is drawn to games, whether to play or just join in the celebration.
  • Singing & Dancing - If there is one thing that could be considered 'girly' about Nasrin, it's that she has a beautiful singing voice, and loves to dance.  While she cannot play an instrument as good as she can sing or dance, but no matter the time, she can often be found dancing to a beat in her own head, or singing something nonsensical sweetly.  Old songs, new songs, all songs she loves.
Dislikes:
  • Slavery - She does not know the makings of politics or the games of Queens.  Yet the reason Slavery was instituted in Pruul makes no sense to the young woman.  No one person should be owned by another.  In service of a debt, sure, but the complete loss of one’s agency is reprehensible.
  • Cheaters - Whether in games or in life, those that cheat to win earn Nasrin’s eternal ire.  It is one thing to play a trick on someone as part of a game, but it is a fine line between that and cheating to win.  Life is about earning what you get, and the struggle to make it yours.  She could never imagine a world outside of Pruul where the struggle to survive was easy, nor a place where you can just get whatever you want.  Those that cheat display a sign of weakness that can never be welcomed in Pruulian society.
  • Killing - Despite the fact that she is a Warrior, the one facet of her life she does not enjoy is killing.  Hunting is one thing, but killing a person, whether in battle or in cold blood, does not sit well with Nasrin.  She would rather a fight end when there was a clear victor and loser, without the nedd to murder an opponent.  Nasrin is a woman full of life, and she wants to enjoy it and share it with everyone, not take it away.
Fears:
  • Never Belonging - Raised among a family of Landen, Nasrin knows what it feels like to have been given up.  She does not know her parentage, but it’s clear she never would have belonged there to begin with.  She has a deep seated fear of never being able to find some place where she belongs, a place and/or people that call to her as her own.  To this end, she wanders, her heart longing for the place where a female Warlord who nobody wanted can truly belong.
  • The Discovery of a Prank Gone Wrong - At the young age of seven, she was up to no good.  She was still a Half-Landen, so she had no Birthright to go to, but she was still learning basic Craft.  Seeing an opportunity, she tripped a particularly mean slave trader who had come through the camp she was in one day.  That trip, though, ended up with him crashing into several barrels of water, breaking them all open.  Seeing the water spill out, Nasrin’s eyes went wide and the small girl bolted to hide.  Despite how long ago it was, it was the only time Nisran ever learned a lesson from her pranks, yet she is terrified of the day someone finds out, and the punishment that will come for such a massive mistake.
  • Being Alone- Nasrin grew up with few friends, and two families that didn't want her. The first one gave her up and the second didn't care.  Friends were hard to come by for the half-blood and those she made she clung to desperately.  Unfortunately, even after she went on a journey on her own to find a place to belong, she desperately hates and fears being alone.  It has been the single, soul crushing thing that drives her to seek and wander in the hopes of finding the Family of her Heart.
Craft Strengths:
  • Power Bolts - Nasrin’s skill with Power Bolts is shocking to some who witnessed her skill.  While it may take her a second or two to be able to reach the depths of her Jewel and channel her power properly, once she does she can shoot out a high volume of power bolts at a fraction of the power it takes others.  While her Power Bolts are not accurate at all, the volume that she is able to put out makes up for the lack of accuracy.
  • Whimsy Craft - Nasrin’s childlike glee and optimism comes out in the form of specialization with whimsy craft.  Her illusions are almost perfect, that she uses to distract her opponents in battle, or to be able to allow her to sneak through locations undisturbed by causing guards to see or hear things elsewhere.  Aside from that, she can often be found entertaining children with her Craft, making them think she’s juggling swords, balls of fire, or other entertaining illusions to make them laugh.
Craft Weaknesses:
  • Clothing Craft - Nasrin is entirely unable to clean or repair clothing with Craft.  Moreover, every time she has tried, her efforts always end with the article of clothing ended up being torn or bursting into flames.
  • Seduction Craft - With a personality so full of life and love for others, one might think that Seduction Craft might be a thing she could be quite skilled in.  Yet, it seemed to never work properly for he.  Like many of her tricks, her attempts at Seduction Craft usually end blowing up in her face.  Usually, this happens by the target of her craft feel uncomfortable rather than aroused.
Life Story

Family:
Mother:  Shirin al-Geiba, Born 144 AP, Died 183 AP, Tiger’s Eye - Summer Sky.
Father:  Athnan Wasabeun, Born 150 AP, Died 193 AP, Landen Slave
Siblings:  N/A

History:
From the day she was born, Nasrin was someone no one wanted.  Her mother had had a dalliance with a slave that she had found attractive, and wound up pregnant.  Deciding to keep the child in a moment of weakness, she kept the child safe in her womb until it was time for Shirin to give birth.  With her first look at the newborn girl, Shirin al-Geiba knew she wanted nothing to do with the child.  Once the child was given her name, the infant Nasrin was handed off to the first family of Landen her mother found.  Ordering the family to take care of the child, Shirin left the now orphaned Nasrin to her fate.  Afraid to disobey the Blood woman, yet with no desire to raise the child as their own, they took her in and decided to do the bare minimum : Ensure the child grew up, raise her to be a part of the Hague Tribe and how to survive in the desert.  The rest, Nasrin would need to learn on her own.

Nasrin spent the majority of her life learning by watching, learning from mistakes, and just being carefree.  She wasn't wanted at home, so she was constantly trying to find a place within the Tribe that raised her that would want her.  Unfortunately, even the few friends she had made would not stay close to her, and Nasrin quickly gained the notoriety of being a troublemaker.  Gradually, over the years, even her friends began to drift away, subconsciously sensing the difference between themselves and the half-blood that lived among them.

Unwanted by Blood or Landen, Nasrin kept her spirits up and focused on finding herself a family that would want her.  Finally, at a young age, she believed undergoing the rituals of adulthood as a Warrior and joining the Tribe that way, she would be welcomed.  She could join in a form of Brotherhood that was not available to her as a woman.  She believed, erroneously, that this was the path for her.

When the time had come for her to choose, she found out two things.  The first was just how wrong she was about being part of a brotherhood of warriors.  She was joining into the brotherhood, yes, but it was not the same as what she had been looking for.  The feeling of being wanted was abated a small bit, yet her heart still yearned for something more than the Brotherhood she planned to join could provide.  The choice, though, came as a shock to the rest of the students with her.  It had been expected that Nasrin would go to Onn and the Hajj.  There were many people who tried to talk the troublemaker out of her decision, even the elders of their camp giving her the chance to change her mind many times.  Each time, Nasrin told them the same answer, "She was happy with her choice."  And each time, she gave the person a friendly smile, a kiss on the cheek, and continued with her training.  The second thing Nasrin discovered was that she was actually good at being a Warrior.  Her dancer's grace gifted her talents at fighting with speed over strength.  She could nimbly get to places other men couldn't, and even found herself adept at grappling and throwing the other students.

Yet, still questions persisted.  Any time she struggled with a task, any time she showed up to training, or to a meal with makeup applied and her hair expertly done, she received looks that clearly told the half-blood that she didn't belong there.  So she continued to train, and push herself harder to show them just how wrong they were about her.  Yet still, always smiling and suffering the criticism in silence.

It wasn't until a Clan Sabbah gathering when she was twelve that she found someone who would teach her without displaying any doubt about her abilities.  Elham al-Sabbah displayed an open dislike of Nasrin's love of makeup, jewelry and dresses, but that was because she didn't like them.  Not because Nasrin shouldn't be a woman AND a fighter.  Nasrin begged and pleaded with the Hague to be allowed to learn under Elham, seeing in her the teacher she always needed.

For the next five years, she trained under Elham.  She helped Elham's wife with their kids, using her talents for whimsy craft to keep then entertained and learning how to tell stories to them.  Nayarreh dotted heavily on Nasrin, always surprising her with treats and other delicious foods.  For those five years, everything was perfect in her life.  She felt like she had found a family that actually wanted her, that accepted the half-blood among them.  There were nights that she was found crying, knowing that it would come to an end.

Even then, she would be smiling at the end.  Knowing that there was a family out there for her that was hers.

When the day came for Nasrin undergo her Ordeals was the happiest, and saddest day of her life. For two days, she worked hard.  The first Ordeal of Strength allowed her to demonstrate her skill in combat against other opponents.  The entire time, she came out in a flowing dress that didn't restrict her movements, a gift from Nayarreh for her Ordeal, and her hair and make up done up to the extreme.  She intended to prove, just for this ordeal, that no matter what, a woman could be a woman, and still take on the roles of a man.

And she was successful through her first Ordeal.

Her second was to go out into the desert and return within two days with water, or not at all.  It had taken the entire time that she was allotted to find water and return to the Clan’s camp.  She was parched and sunburnt from the trial, but she had succeeded in finding a small cliffside alcove that contained a small pool of untouched water.  It had been luck that she had found the pool, and returning with two water skins full of water was the second best feeling she could ever feel.

Her third Ordeal was to dig as many holes as she could, as deep and as large as she was tall.  After two days of wandering the desert, combat, and now digging, she was exhausted, but she refused to give up.  She had come this far, and she was going to prove to everyone that had doubted her that she could be a Warrior.

She was halfway through the third hole when time was called.  She had never stopped digging for a moment.  She was exhausted, her muscles screaming, her skin burnt by the sun, covered from head to toe in dirt and sweat, her throat sore and parched from the heat and singing.  Yet in the end, she had succeeded.

She was presented with her khanjar blade, and guided by a priestess to make her descent into the Darkness, where she returned with an uncut Tiger’s Eye.  She had never had a Jewel before, and had sincerely thought that she would walk away a Jewelless half-blood.  She cherished the new Jewel, immediately getting it set within a choker for her to wear and always feel her precious Jewel.  When it was all done, she went back and stayed with Elham and Nayarreh for a few days to recover and celebrate passing her Ordeals.

But all good things have an end.  After her recovery and celebration, Nasrin hugged the two women that were like a second family, knowing that while they were friends and would always be close, here was not where she belonged.  He heart ached to find those within the Sabbah, or the greater culture of Pruul, who she could serve, who would be her family.  With tears of goodbye, but a huge smile on her face, Nasrin went off to search for what her heart called for...

Character in Play:
The sounds of a shovel digging into sand and deep breathing seemed to echo around Nasrin as she pulled another shovel full of dirt and threw it out of the hole.  Her make up had long since smeared around the rest of her face, along with the dirt, sand and sweat.  The young woman was undergoing her Third Ordeal, the Ordeal of Endurance.  Once this was finished, she would be considered an adult, a warrior, and a Man in the eyes of the Hague and the Sabbah.

That last she had come to care about less and less.  She had started down this path for all of the wrong reasons, Elham had shown her that.  She wanted to be part of a brotherhood, a family that she thought she saw out of the warriors at a young age.  There was a camaraderie, she had learned, but it had been that that she had been mistaken about.  Mother Night, though, had chosen that despite her mistake, the path she had chosen was the right one for her.  Nasrin loved fighting, had loved training, was even loving doing this stupid digging.  The work was hard, but fulfilling.

But she had been digging for roughly five, maybe six hours by her count.  She was digging her third hole, no one had told her how many she had to dig, nor for how long she would need to do so.  Just that digging was what was required of her.  Each hole, as deep and as wide as she was tall.  She was only a little over five feet in height, so at least she did not need to go deeper than that.  But every so often, she did need to stop and lay down within the hole to make sure that it was the correct size.  And of course, she had the ever present sun of Pruul beating down on her, baking her within the hole.

She was so tired, for two days she had wandered the desert looking for water to complete the Second Ordeal.  This was after she had to fight multiple other combatants for several hours in the first Ordeal.  Her body was screaming at her to rest, but she refused to stop.  Exhaustion and pain was everywhere, and she felt like she was covered in nettles with how her skin stung from the dirt and sweat.  Yet she gritted her teeth as another shovel full of dirt and sand was tossed out of the hole.

Nasrin ahd never let the work defeat her, but right then, she almost stopped.  She knew she was being watched, the other men of the Sabbah looking down on her to see if she would be worthy.  They had doubted her until she met Elham, questioned every step of the way that if she truly felt she fit this role.  She never gave in, but right then she wanted too...She wanted to stop, to just tell them they were right…  But then another idea came to the young woman.  A way to lift her spirits and make the work seem easier.  It was also a way to spit in the faces of all of those who doubted her.

Nasrin began to sing.  She turned the work into a song, singing about toiling in the dirt.  Working away the pain.  She sang about how she would rise through the pain.  She sang, pouring her heart and her soul into the song she made up.  A smile blossomed on her face as she felt her spirit soar, finding the task easier to work through.  And so she continued singing, and she sang until finally, she was told to stop digging…

Where she collapsed to her knees, sore both inside and outside of her body, but she was done.  When she finally climbed out, she was brought before the other students who had also gone through the Third Ordeal.  There, she was given the opportunity to kneel, and swear her loyalty to the Hague and to the Sabbah.

There, she was given her Khanjar.

There, she was given the title of Warlord.

Good for all references to Naya and Elham's family!
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead, We'll wander back to home and bed.
