The Basics

Character Name: Siona Doyle
Nicknames:
Age:   20- Born 167AP
Race:   Sceltic
Caste:   Healer
Birth Territory: Scelt
Home Territory: Scelt
Birthright Jewel: Yellow
Offering Jewel: Has not made her Offering
Appearance

Play By: Bonnie Wright
Distinguishing Features:

Unlike other members of her family, Siona boasts a head of copper bright hair and sparkling blue eyes.  Sparkling usually with pent up ideas of mischief and mayhem.  Polite and playful mayhem, but mayhem none the less.  Sadly, despite her best wishes, she is also shorter than her siblings, which combined with her age difference, gives them more cause to treat and indulge her like a child.  She uses this to her advantage, especially when getting out of reprimands she would otherwise receive for her antics.

Personality

Personality:

It seems that as soon as she could get her feet beneath her, she was off on one adventure or another to cause humorous chaos in her very puckish way.  Always the one to brighten the room, she hates somber or tense situations and uses her humor to disrupt the somber atmosphere.   AS the youngest, she was allowed a little more lenience in her youthful and exuberant behavior.

The one time to find her outside of her clownish demeanor is when she is practicing her Craft.  She takes great pleasure in Healing and in some ways it settles the excited nature of her jokester side.   Envious of her older sister Maeve and the talent that seems to flow from her as effortlessly like air, she looks up to her older sibling and aspires to be as dedicated a healer as her.    Unfortunately, her spirited nature lends her to be less patient than Maeve and she is gets frustrated at the slow pace of her studies.  She is the type of learner who does well by doing, rather by reading about doing.   This could probably be a good explanation for her talents in creating pranking spells and tricks.  Her brothers instructed her with hands-on lessons to their mischief and in some ways, her imagination and creativity causes her to excel above the skill of her brothers.

Despite what her siblings may think, she is not ignorant of the seriousness of the life around her, especially after the attack on Ciaran.  She believes that keeping humor and warmth in the family is her own personal strength and function.

Likes:

*Practical Jokes.   If there is one thing that Siona excels at, it is the art of playing tricks on people, second only to enticing others to join in her pranks.  Never done in a mean spirit, and completely reversible....well almost anyway.

* Working under her sister.  As much as Siona is sure she frustrates Maeve, she is happy that she can study Healing under her older sister.  Despite her playful nature, she looks up to and admires Maeve's calm and focus in her Craft and wants to be as good a Healer when she's finally trained.

*  Baking.  When she has the chance, she enjoys spending some time in the kitchen watching the Cook at his/her craft and when permitted, she has made several attempts at baking sweets.  She never told her family though, with her record for pranks, they might believe the worst of her culinary samples.

Dislikes:

*Cleaning up her messes.  One of the only downsides to her jokes is when they aren't taken with a good laugh and jest and she's forced to make reparations or worse.....clean up whatever mess she has incurred.  Hearth witchcraft is one of her least favorite things.

* Not being a natural healer.  Siona envies the natural way her sister commands her Healing craft, almost effortlessly.  Being in a family of women who were all Healers, Siona follows in their footsteps and while having a skill to be the next Doyle Healer to emerge, she doesn’t have the deep instincts that a natural Healer would have.

*  Studying.  Siona believes she does her best at practice but not at studying over old dusty books.  She prefers experience over reading.+

Fears:

* Harm to her family.  Ever since the attack on Ciaran, Siona harbors a deep paranoia that another member of her family would be targeted.  When she saw him brought it, barely clinging to life and broken back to Basic Craft, she almost didn't believe he would recover.  It's a shard of guilt she still carries inside her.

* Spiders.  Such a silly, irrational fear but she can't stand even the sight of the creepy, crawly, silent creatures anywhere around her.

*  Useless.  AS much as she relishes her job as family jokester, she fears that all her years of pranks and games has left her incapable in the eyes of her family.

Craft Strengths:

*Empathy.  While Maeve is the stronger and more practiced Healer, Siona could be said to have a stronger connection to her patients, with her patience able to put even the most pained patient at ease.

Craft Weaknesses:

* Internal Healing.  Siona is not very able in dealing with healing internal injuries with her craft.  While her sister tries to reassure her that it is only a matter of training, it is a weakness she can feel deep inside.

Life Story
Family:

Mother: Fiona Doyle: Summer Sky to Opal Healer
Father: Devin Doyle : Yellow to Summer Sky Prince
Brothers: Riordan Doyle: Rose to Purple Dusk Warlord
Rorie Doyle:  Rose to Opal Warlord
Ciaran: Broken White to Rose Prince

Sister:
Maeve Doyle : Purple Dusk to Blood Opal Healer

History:
Siona is the youngest of the Doyle family, and favored as all female children are of the Blood.  Her older and more accomplished siblings have left Siona feeling that she has so much to catch up on in all things, from maturing to growing in her Craft.

Being the youngest sister of the three older brothers has given Siona a much less delicate and demure female persona and transformed her into a young girl climbing trees and running wild with her brothers in hot pursuit.  They taught her all she knows about jokes, pranks and tricks.

Despite her mother's best efforts, Siona did not bloom into maturity with her Birthright Ceremony and entrance into womanhood, but still clung tightly to the mischievous childhood that defined her.  Even more to her mother's dismay, she didn’t  seem to take her entrance into the Healer's training with sobriety and seriousness as Maeve did or even herself.

Siona was disappointed in her Birthright Jewel, despite her father's attempt to comfort her and remind her that they both shared the Yellow and could possibly share the jewel of rank when she was older.  This was of little comfort, especially for a young woman growing up in the shadow of her mother and sister, both holding Opal jewels at their Offering.  It was yet another remind of how far behind her family she was.

this was the reason for her quick and almost natural talent at pranks.  By making others laugh, she feels accomplished in at least one thing.  Especially as she began to excel over her brothers, at the skill and imagination she brought to their games as she grew.  Of course, as they all made their won Offerings, they began receiving and accepting responsibilities and positions within the Court, allowing for less and less time to play.

Siona began to wonder if perhaps it was time to put away her toys when Ciaran was attacked and Broken.  She watched the pain and struggle ripple through her family and realized that what she once viewed as her failure was perhaps her new strength.  Using laughter and fun; she kept the heart and spirit going within the core of her family, especially with Ciaran who was having a difficult time finding his place in their world now that all he had once lived for was no longer possible.

Writing Sample:
Siona sat outside her family’s residence, resting back under the shade of a still leafy tree.  The brisk air felt good against her skin as she turned another page of the annoying stuffy book.  She was glad for the unusually warm day, this late in the fall and relished the opportunity to at least get out of the house and get some fresh air while she accomplished her assignment.  Maeve, probably at the insistence of their mother, had assigned her to read.  Not only read, but later compile a list of the ailments disgusted first and their various forms of treatment.

She absentmindedly brushed her fingers through her hair as she reread the same page for the third time before sighing in frustration and closed the book with a deep sigh.  She should be out with Maeve on her rounds or tending to the herb garden or even….even well anything!  Anything except studying this old, crumbling book written by someone hundreds of years ago who was long dead and buried.  Okay, that was a little brattish of her to think but it was true.  It annoyed her that she had to pour over these faded, yellowing pages instead of getting hands on practice.  After all, book knowledge was great, but real life was much more useful and practical.

She blew at a strand of her hair fallen over her eyes impatiently as she opened the book again to where she left off and dejectedly began re-read….AGAIN…..that blasted page when something caught her eye.  She pulled the book closer as she carefully traced the fading print.   It was a simple enough spell, using basic and local wild herbs she could find growing anywhere along the road, oh but the implications.

Siona looked around cautiously as a sneaky smile spread across her lips and she pulled out a fresh piece of paper and began carefully copying down the ingredients.  Maybe if she hurried up and did her assignment early, her mother would let her have the rest of the afternoon free.   Free to go out and gather what she needed for her latest and perhaps greatest trick.   Suddenly, the old book wasn’t so useless and boring after all.

As I didn't put it in her application and there is no tag/reply listed....I don't believe Siona was ever rolled for her descent. Per upcoming post that I'm writing for her, I request her descending roll if someone would be so kind :)

I'ma dork!  She was a family roll on an NPC before I adopted her.
