Appearance

Play By: Meagan Good
Distinguishing Features: Direct expression, confident in what and who she is. Aside from her warm golden brown skin and sensual gaze, the long black hair of her people seems almost to meld into graceful black wings not without a few battle scars well healed enough to be primarily invisible to the eye but not touch.

The difficulty of their people has stolen very much of the woman's laughter, yet she still allows herself ferocious joy despite loss endured. There is a maternal presence that wraps around this woman, protective and keenly intelligent. Clean mountain air, melds with pine and wildflowers as her psychic scent. Tall, willowy and curvy, Lady Miraeian stands to an incredible 5'11 for a woman.

Personality

Personality: Lesson of Witch's Purge was not forgotten by this woman, nor the wisdom from that horror. Lady Miraeian believes firmly in the virtues of a clear mind. While once an entirely hot-headed creature hells bent upon war, the experience changed her desires, which reflects in the woman's somewhat more understanding bearing. Lady Mira is neither overbearing nor shy in her approach regarding any topic, but assertive.

With memories of conquest, Mira does the best she can despite cultural tendencies to speak before thinking. Eyrien life has marked her; the ferocity in a passion of being a Black Widow is relished. Still as passionate as she was before Witch ended the Great War, considerable guilt marks her as well as the powerful wings she possesses. While sanity can be a questionable matter for some of her sisters, Miraeian recognises caution these days is of deeper import than stirring up revenge. Painful indeed to see how fair Askavi has fallen, the opinion that they must rebuild by way of limited peace is apparent with the additional patience the Seer exhibits.

When some of the most violent decry how much she had changed, Miraeian is only inclined to fiercely, and directly point out how driving the land to death is not worth the so-called "glory" of war. Deeply pained by time, Lady Mira's heart lurches in her chest with a blend of futile rage and grief, which she has learned to allow visible in certain circumstances. Above all, loyalty to Askavi is what Lady Mira values most, even if sometimes that loyalty might mean too much change even for her.

As a woman guiding those within the Coven as a whole, Lady Larethar could be best described as diligent and disciplined; the art of the Black Widow is while very much well treasured, it is also dangerous. That is one part that she makes very clear at all times to those that follow her lead; not to push themselves to the point of no return either in healing the minds of those that require, or seeking Visions for where best to take Askavi with so much at risk. She both deeply respects and reveres those older Black Widows that can no longer give forth their Craft, but have their minds intact for advice and consideration of where to step and what to partake of. After all, without the horror of the Purge, there is the high chance she would not be in the position she is.

Likes:
  • 1 Skies: To blast into the sky upon her wings keeps away some of the guilt and grief that continual war brought upon her kind. The wind flowing through her inky hair helps not only to recall the past as a lesson but as a solace. While some of her people have left Askavi for other climes, though she blames them not, that life will never be for Miraeian. Askavi is and will be her home until the Darkness claims her tender soul.

  • 2 Babies: The smallest ones, with their tiny, barely moveable wings, they make her heart sing with hope. It is one of the few times she will smile freely and without the weight of the past. It is for those tiny squished faces that she refuses to shift toward those that shriek for blood and war as if they were dropped on the head during the Purge instead. So ferocious is her protectiveness, very nearly does she have a hatred for those that would press forth and rip the lives and futures from innocent people. Those that warmonger never see the real cost until it is too late, and then they begin all over again.

  • 3 Growing Things: As greenery is so terribly precious with the lack of Queens, to see even a tree, or brush her fingers over flowers is a tender delight that is impossible to exchange with anything else. While once Miraeian cared very little for Queens and their machinations, now she only wishes they could have but a few more that were learned and well trained. Gifts of flower pots and tiny items are one of the very few other items to bring a glow to Lady Mira's face, a faint reminder of the deep romantic she once was, long ago. To call it a blush is to court a disdainful scowl.

    Dislikes:
  • 1 Unending Violence: Ah, this. While it is one thing to seek honoured combat, or to teach the boys in the Hunting Camps of Tradition, and even the War Camps should they indeed need to defend, Miraeian is absofuckinglutely exhausted of the idea of constant violence, in the way one would never perhaps expect an Eyrien to be. A border skirmish is one matter, but full on invasion talks especially makes her blood boil. To Miraeian, there is no greater crime to consider starting a war when so many are in need, thus there are many, many Eyrien males Miraeian looks down her perfect nose at. Some Hayllians as well, end up in this category due to their slaughter of a number of civilians at the height of the Great War.

  • 2 Abundance of Broken Jewels: So many broken and dead. So many. Though the fact burns deep in her belly Miraeian knows they well earned it, themselves and of course the Hayllians in particular. While she does not quite hate non-Eyriens, nor even those born half of each, it is certainly a source of deep irritation. Not feeling shame precisely, as that is assuredly too far, for War is part of the world of the Blood whether desired or no, the cost of the Great War and its abrupt, terrifying end with the Purge that spared no innocent or guilty simply cannot be borne to be repeated. Only one of her siblings isn't broken of their Jewels in part, other than herself.

  • 3 Carelessness of Males: Expectation is retained like many other Eyriens for their men to be ferocious, she believes there is simply no excuse for those that are so well trained to be absolutely careless, or callous. While the single exception is those souls bearing the Caste of the Warlord Prince, even among them a lack of forethought, consideration for the direction of Askavi beyond their own greed is why they have almost nothing. She notices everyone in favour of war never considers that they might lose, or do not consider the end of the Great War a loss, but a pause. It makes her roll her eyes.

    Fears:
  • 1 Hayllian Revenge: There has as far as she knows, been no word of their envoys sent to the Hayllian courts, which keeps her up late at night. The whispers that they could be dead, that Hayll intends fully to finish where the reparations left off leaves Miraeian trembling after putting her youngest granddaughter to bed, and visiting the elder grandchildren she has been blessed with. At once she realises despite her losses of children and siblings, her parents, having living offspring and still able to produce leaves her very, very blessed indeed. It is not something she is inclined to lose due to a few men and women that can't sit down and shut the fuck up - and that goes for both sides of the issue, not just the Eyrien. Often her wings simply flutter in a rage where she needs to hold back a vicious biting tongue on the issue.

  • 2 Complete Extinction: Absolute loss of her people and land as if they were a dream haunts Miraeian deeply. She knows and has seen other places to know that her people are deeply hated for what they chose to do in both of the Realms. While on the one hand, it is tiresome to continue paying for things long gone, on the other, she knows how she might feel in the reverse due to some of the Vision Webs she has made use of. Her blood runs near cold at the thought of Eyriens being a myth, that her progeny no longer being a legacy for the world, but naught save for dust.

  • 3 Reversal of Fates: Not only does she fear war, but she fears the weakness of the land making it impossible to defend Askavi well enough to survive without being Occupied just as they took over other lands. Even while her pride keeps her from truly feeling entirely remorseful, Lady Mira is not so much a fool that she cannot empathise with being tortured to death or broken, as she imagines this is precisely how it will go if the Hayllians have their way. It is only the hope that there are those like herself among their numbers that keeps her from giving in to fear and fleeing her wondrous home, flaws and all.

    History:
Once, Lady Miraeian, Head Seer of the Hourglass Coven, supported the Askavi War Machine in its entirety, at one time with a focused, blind devotion. One could have said her sense for violence and war, even though her place was to bear children and consider the future for the gain of the Bloodseekers so that their strikes and movements upon all the Realms would have a precision impact. Yet following the horror of Witch's brutal strike, and the loss of so many kin, she lost something vital along the way: her taste for the bloodshed to sacrifice her own people. Yet, there is more to just this ideal for peace to the Black Widow.

The Larethar line was once known for its abundance for Queens, and the occasional skilled Widow, as well as considerable number of sons. Though none had been born to her parents as to daughters before Mira's birth, they had sons a-plenty. Her parents were a rarer married pair, rather than her father possessing Consort status. This left Miraeian's upbringing with a sense of romance that has not left her to this day, though she keeps her heart buried beneath the considerable armour.

Early life for Miraeian was surprisingly idyllic despite those early preparations for defense; her parents lived their lives for Court service and the defence of Askavi with pride. While she was born in the beginnings of Askavi gearing up its War Machine, this did not cause much effect in her own life immediately, beyond knowing her brothers went to the Training Camps, and then War Camps later on. With the considerable pride of matching her father's White Birthright, giving her a connection to the older man while being his cherished, only daughter, the young woman's snake tooth appearance at age fourteen entirely changed the hopeful direction her parents held, brightening it.

Tutelage for a Black Widow was particular, and under the guiding hand of the Hourglass Coven, Miraeian learned as much as possible in every subject she could, for she too believed at the time in the will for Askavi embrace all the Realm under their rule. Of course, as a young girl, her understanding was incomplete of the carnage and loss of life that point of view would eventually spew forth. The woman's Virgin Night was neither remarkable nor unpleasant; her Offering with a full descent was a triumph and to this day she cherishes her White to Rose as a last link with her deceased father.

Given the woman's diligence, she rose with alacrity through the ranks of Black Widows, and while Miraeian never used unsavoury tactics to get to where she now is at the highest rank of Black Widows outside of a Court, it cannot be denied that she gained from the Purge having removed many of those with deeper gifts than her own. Centuries of very specific focus upon delicate delivery and security webs for hiding and alternate security allowed her to, later during the Great War under Illyrian's direction and orders, assist with entirely hiding Gravesend from a potential strike. While Lady Miraeian was only one of very many, many members of the Coven that assisted with such an immense task, it was one of a few particular talents that drew notice. Miraeian's Lighter Jewels, in addition, have granted the ability to consider what she sees in vision webs with a little more patience than a Black Widow with a Darker, more immense presence.

Surviving the Purge intact of Jewels was simply due to having been with child at the time, and on bed rest; her youngest son was lost almost directly after his birth due to complications. Given that she lost both few lovers, including chosen fathers of her children, it is never easy for Miraeian to maintain some of her lack of bitterness at the path that has been Askavi's lot. Two of her brothers, three of her own sons as well were the Price it appears for backing the arguably glorious War Machine the Eyriens once were.

One step at a time the woman does her very best to seek a clear path for Askavi that might be a compromise between war and absolute, and potentially foolish peace. One cannot war when the land groans at the lack of Queens, even if the people of Askavi are not starving, it is too close to that line for the Black Widow's comfort. As the Head of the Coven, which she has been for a mere century and a half, Miraeian has been tested just enough in her political role that her focus on the good of the territory rather than seeking to expend resources for warfare are of particular note and likely, some gain toward those that support the Territory Court. In both tutelage toward young Black Widows, Miraeian is patient, graceful, and passionate, having been shaped both by loving family lost and gained, and given history of Askavi, greatly desires for her people to come to prominence now through their own hands, skill, and intellect, rather than the spoils of war.

    Show Us What You've Got

    Character in Play:

Mira's hands moved over the delicate webbing infused with the hint of Craft from her White Jewel. Where others were more darkly blessed, the Black Widow's power came from her confidence in a gentle touch. Even bearing a full descent from White to Rose, the Head of the Hourglass Coven knew she was strong and blessed. As in all moments, severe, yet passionate thoughts turned toward the sisters she possessed in the art that had survived the Purge intact of jewels, mind, and bodies.

All of them, from the youngest of Widows' coming into their first sensual feelings both before and after their last nights as Virgins and the very oldest matrons, some of which she had lived among, worked with, and had watched receive their Funeral rites to her deepest bittersweet thoughts, mattered to Miraeian as much as her own flesh and Blood. While a Queen might have their Darkness Blessed males, she had this. A vision for what Askavi truly could be, if the people would only work toward it. Though restrained both through over a thousand years of life, which was on the young side for having so much power, she knew, that precise care and caution was the best road. To that end, indeed, the Coven was its own will and body, but they all served. As did she.

Golden eyes focused upon the images that appeared before her; that sense of wholeness and dropping away of the world was a siren's song. Vision webs were always dangerous, as even so much as a step too deep beyond the mysterious boundaries of the Twisted Kingdom, and one could be lost. Unlike some Widows, Lady Miraeian did not choose to use that Craft too often, lest it rises in her sense to retain her mind there permanently as a price for looking beyond the present into what could be. It had always been her strong-minded opinion that unless a Black Widow was explicitly and near religiously trained in visions, one needed to have a deepened care toward them.

With so many Eyriens among the Broken and dead, she cherished very closely what had not been lost. Jewels and fertility both. Many that sought her out were those that could not face nor bear memories that for the short-lived were stories passed down by grandparents of horror, while for the Long-Lived it was as if the Purge had been years ago rather than nearly two centuries. Miraeian had named that last son she'd had, after waking loss of consciousness to find the infant's cries weak and hardly there. Yet, she did not feel rage either at Witch, nor most Hayllians, or others of the Realm of Light.

For most responsible for the suffering were dead or just as broken as her brothers and sons were. True indeed that Askavi wept, the land was not as rich as it once was. She worried often, late into the evening that bitterness of those that had less due to everyone crying out for reparations (that were arguably unfair after a point) would cause spillage into further war. They would lose more, this time, it was fact. With a very cautious manner, Mira lifted her consciousness out of the Twisted Kingdom wherein private, without an audience, she could see.

Brown, graceful hands plucked free the Uncut White Jewel from the centre; Lady Mira held it to her heartbeat and bowed her head. In silence she stood before very carefully vanishing the Jewel, only to dismantle the gently created Vision Web. She knew there was a chance that if Askavi moved to fight more than for defense, that her granddaughters would not live to see their own grandchildren. Smoothing the delicate white spider-silk of her gown, the lady put away her supplies in their tiny box and vanished it as well.

There was a meeting to be had with her fellow sisters, but not for her personal fears. Those as always were set aside; they had to be. She was not the only one with sadness and aches and the occasional desire for revenge.

Peace for Askavi meant more than just her personal goals; there was a time for war. To her mind with a lack of Queens, despite her uncertain feelings of the Caste, it was they that rule, no other. After all, if most beautiful and brightest of the Blood could not be loved, what did it say for the future? Miraeian feared the answer, but the most frightening truth was always akin to unwanted fingers brushing down one's spine. With a brush from her White once more, the dual doors of Miraeian's Sanctuary opened, and through them, she moved.
