QUEEN OF TABOTSHIRE

Status
Claimed by Kellee

Territory
Dharo

Name
TBD by Writer

Caste
Queen

Jewels
TBD by Writer
Plot Information:

The Queen of Tabotshire was a contemporary of Rheava Evesham and was likely a few years younger than the popular Queen, therefore having been forced to sit within Rheava's considerable shadow.

It is not unusual for Queens to create their own networks during their rise to power but many do not have the focus or interest to sustain large enough networks to gain influence through their connections. The Queen of Tabotshire has had the most notable success in building her network and had initially picked up the pieces of Rheava’s broken network when she was deposed (many of whom have returned their loyalty and allegiance back to Rheava).

She would have been a considerable contender to become the Queen of Dharo during the time that Rheava was deposed, and was likely one of the vocal supporters of deposing Rheava at the time. (And if someone is feeling particularly plotty she could have been one of the rabble rousers who helped to see that Rheava was broken on her way out.) Instead of getting her 'rightful' place as the leader of the Territory she would have been frustrated when it was given to someone considerably younger and less experienced (Alora Kent). It always feels like, to her, that the time is never right for her to be able to take control of the Territory. The first opportunity she had (when Janis Maywest retired) it was Rheava, the shining pupil, who took the role of Territory Ruler. Then when Rheava was deposed and the Province Queen would have been the perfect choice, Alora Kent came from no where and with the support of the Ryders gained the right to rule. Finally when Alora was removed from power she thought she might have a chance to defeat the broken Queen (Rheava) it seemed that once more she was foiled. Second place has begun to rankle her nerves.

What I'm Looking For...

The Queen of Tabotshire can ultimately be whatever suits the muse of the adopting writer. She's a very open concept though I've laid some ideas out in regards to how she can interact with existing characters in the Territory. As a politically minded woman she is likely the type to have a dirty dossier file on all the members of Court, and I doubt that blackmail is a concept that is foreign to her. There would be no love lost between her and Rheava but both would smile pleasantly and react to one another warmly in mixed company. She also likely doesn't much care for Alora Kent. But make no mistake she would be a powerful woman in the Territory.

QUEEN OF WARTONSHIRE

Plot Information:

The Queens of Wartonshire have traditionally come from the District of Northwood, which is the dominant of the Districts in Wartonshire. In fact there has not been a Queen from the Westwood District who has risen to power as either Province or Territory Queen in nearly one thousand years.

The Northwood District is relatively powerful in the grand scheme of things and there is no love lost between Northwood and Westwood, often with Westwood being oppressed by the larger and more powerful District.

The Queen of Wartonshire is facing challenges with the growing support that the Queen of Westwood is gaining. She would be the first to raise the warning that Westwood is becoming restless. She is the type of Queen who would take matters into her own hands to ensure that Westwood remains behind the mountains and does not plague the Territory.

What I'm Looking For...

Originally I had her listed as a standard Wanted Ad but after consideration I have upgraded her to advance. That means before you claim interest in the character I need to have some plotting time so I can ensure that she suits the Wanted Ad. This Queen ties in heavily to the new elements of drama that will begin to boil over out of the Westwood District. And this Queen is going to be the first line of defense against the drama and will need to be able to stand her ground. She also needs to be able to drive plots and help mold the ones in Westwood.

THE RULER OF LANCASHIRE

Warlord Prince

Plot Information:

The Warlord Prince of Lancashire is a canny, intelligent, suave and powerful Warlord Prince. Given that Dharo, as a whole, has more than enough Queens to rule all the way to a village level it is a rare occurence for a male to rule in place of a Queen. This particular gentleman has made a mark in the Lancashire Province. As an aristocrat he owns a considerable amount of land and primarily trades in livestock; from sheep (and their wool), to hunting dogs, to cattle, and even race horses. He enjoys the outdoors and has been known to roll up the sleeves of his fine lawn shirts to help sheer sheep at the end of winter, or plant crops ahead of the harvest.

What I'm Looking For...

This is an unusual man in Dharo but he has earned the respect of those around him, including the Queens who rule the Districts. To have proven that he is capable of ruling he should be no younger than 35 and have a great deal of experience. At this time I've given him no allegiance to any one or anything outside of Lancashire; but it is likely he has a close relationship with the Queens in his Province to have earned such a place of prestige. Equally I can't imagine the other Province Queens much care of the precedent or the fact that their contemporary is a man. It is likely he has a good relationship with the Queen of Dharo.

SAVENNA RYDER

Savenna Ryder

Plot Information:

Savenna Ryder was a contemporary of Rheava Evesham's and the two women were like oil and water, and incapable of getting along. The Ryders, Savenna and her cousin Dirk, possessed great power and influence in Dharo but Savenna had no shot against the golden child, Rheava, when it came to ruling the Territory. Bitterness consumed the Queen and when an opportunity to destroy Rheava presented itself Savenna pounced. With the use of her cousin she ensnared a young Queen, Alora Kent, to complete her bidding. And like a well set up game of dominos she toppled the first piece and watched as Rheava was run from power on the back of Savenna's machinations. Of course Savenna still did not become Queen of Dharo, instead she watched as the younger Queen took to the throne. Since Rheava has returned to power Savenna has systematically lost what little power she possessed in the Territory, though Dirk seemed to remain untouched by the taint that consumed Savenna and her power.

What I'm Looking For...

This character does not have permission to be adopted as written, so a re-write will need to be in order (Original Character Sheet). Historically Savenna Ryder is a Queen who was meant to cause chaos and trouble alongside her cousin Dirk Ryder.

There's a lot of Savenna's story that remains untold and in good hands she could resume her place as a proper villain in Dharo. Due to the nature of the character she would work closely with Dirk Ryder (Blue), and opposite the Court of Dharo (primarily Rheava Evesham and Alora, both written by me). I'm happy for this character to evolve, or devolve, into something unique to the new writer. I'm definitely looking for a fresh element of plot to come out of this twisted Queen, who doesn't even rule so much as a village these days.

QUEEN OF WESTWOOD, LEADER OF THE CYMREANS

Status
Claimed by Astarte

Territory
Dharo

Name
TBD by Writer

Caste
Queen

Jewels
TBD by Writer
Plot Information:

The Queen of Westwood has close bloodline ties to the old Cymrea aristocracy, who had once ruled the area now known as Westwood when it had otherwise been the Territory of Cymrea. Cymrea, in the thousands of years since, has lost power and prestige in Dharo and was demoted first to Province and later to District. The District often requires support from Dharo over the years to avoid true famine and general difficulties..

She should still be quite young, between 25 - 30, and has ruled Westwood for at least a few years. She rose to power to become the ruler of the District with the support of the Cymreans within the District. Additionally she'll need to have serious support from other factions; likely by highly placed members in her Court. It is also likely that she is seeking alliances in Northwood to ensure that she gains further power and support outside of Westwood's sheltered District.

Make no mistake, she would be an ambitious Queen who would share the ideals of her Cymrean heritage, and could pose a true threat to the powers of her Province, and even the Territory.

What I'm Looking For...

In my opinion this character has the potential to be a key plot driver in the Territory despite, or in spite of, the fact that she is "only" a District ruler. The importance of Cymrea and the plots around it make it practically it's own Territory (especially if the Cymreans had their way).

With this Wanted Ad I am looking for a writer who wants to take a character concept, a culture concept, and run with it in parallel to the existing plots and culture of Dharo. The writer needs to be able to come to the table with plot ideas and be willing to bounce ideas back and forth with me for both Cymrea and Dharo.

The Cymreans are very proud people who want their independance restored. They dream in ideals and don't necessarily understand the full scope of what they seek in that independance. Especially considering that Dharo has often come to the aid of the District when it struggles with crops or flooding. This Queen would be a personification of their hope and desires.

Name
Brielle Fereriss

Caste
Priestess

TBD by Writer
Plot Information:

The former High Priestess was an unpresuming woman who went about her duties and oversaw the care of the Priestesses while serving the Court. She was not politically strong and often was walked over by the other castes or the Queen herself. She was gentle by nature and quite spiritual and was well liked at Court, if only because she was one of the few women that could be trusted. A shakeup within the Priestess organization has toppled the High Priestess from her perch and replaced her with Brielle. Brielle comes from a strong political upbringing, with her mother having served in Janis Maywest’s Court (Queen before Rheava’s first term). Mother had been a rival of Rheava’s at the time for Janis’s time and consideration.

What I'm Looking For...

Brielle is a power character in Dharo. Though she is not a Queen she does hold quite a lot of influence and has risen to power as the High Priestess due not only to her family connections but specifically because she is a political powerhouse.

As such I'm looking for someone who is wiling to take this vague shell of a character, breath some life into them, and turn around a true political player in Dharo. What is unique about Brielle is that she is not a Queen but does have considerable weight behind her. She's bringing the power of the Priestesses to the forefront and making a name for herself.

I'd say that I don't see Brielle as a nefarious or cruel type of woman. Just a politician looking for power in the only way available to a Priestess. There's going to be a lot of room for a contentious relationship between her and Rheava.

Plot Information:

Lacey has been the Head of the Hourglass for eight years, taking her place at the head of the Coven when Rheava became Queen once again. The former Coven Leader was forced out of the role due to her support of Alora. Lacey is a political snake; and has begun to use the “sacrifices of the Black Widows” (two Black Widows were killed at Court, more than any other caste) as leverage to get her way in political discussions. She is slippery and will use any tactic to gain an advantage over other castes, but particularly over Rheava.

Lacey learned the art of manipulation from a truly young age, having grown up in the slums of Coventry. It wasn't until she earned her Birthright that she came of notice to the many orphanages which used the slums as a hunting grounds. They kept their beds full so that when the aristocratic ladies, who act as sponsors, came for visits and inspections they would continue to make donations. Lacey was a nameless child that soothed their need to help the less fortunate, while they pranced around in their silks and diamonds, and Lacey was given scraps at the dinner table on the best of nights. When she showed signs of a Black Widow's caste a wealthy benefactor graciously donated the funds to see that Lacey was moved from the orphanage and into the care of the Coven for her training.

What I'm Looking For...

Dharo is a political Territory, make no doubt, but not all the politicians are of aritocratic lineage. In fact many are self made entrepreneurs, others are from impoverished arisocratic lines, and even more rose up from the slums such as Lacey. Her remaining connections to the slums can be up to the imagination of the adopting writer but it could be interesting to see her maintain connectiosn in the darker part of Dharo's society.

Ultimatey this is another political power player in Dharo but she's harder to read than Brielle or even Rheava. She's been in power long enough that others should have been able to begin seeing a pattern in her actions and causes, but none exist. She's one of the most difficult politicians in Dharo to discern motive or reasoning. I'm looking for someone to bring that element of the character to life.

Plot Information:

Cedany’s youngest years were spent in an orphanage before she was adopted by a well to do couple who could not have children. She grew up with a brother from a similar background, and was spoiled and pampered. Yet she never forgot her humble beginnings or the kindness of her family, who continued to donate to the orphanage long after they had taken Cedany away from it. Cedany has continued her parent’s legacy by using her influence and power at Court to be in charge of the philanthropic efforts of the Court. She has taken on a sixteen year old girl, who had been plucked from the streets at fourteen and brought into the orphanage, Priscilla (NPC) as her protégé.

What I'm Looking For...

Cedany's ward, Priscilla, is meant to be an information or spy for one of the other political power players. Cedany is trusted within the Court of Dharo and has always been known to be the 'Bleeding Heart'. Another political player would have groomed Priscilla to fit a specific role and tempt Cedany into housing her. This can create some interesting plot between characters.

ACE IN THE HOLE (FIRST CIRLCE): BRENT POOLE

Status
OPEN

Territory
Dharo

Name
Brent Poole

Caste
Warlord Prince

Jewels
TBD by Writer (Light Jewels Preferred)
Plot Information:

Brent is a retired Runner, a private investigator who liaised strongly with the Queen’s Guard and the Court. His career was built on a single investigation over the suspicious death, made to look as a suicide, of a cousin to the Queen, Janis Maywest. It is only recently that he has come out of retirement at the request of Rheava Evesham, who he once knew as a girl in Janis’s court, to serve in the Court of Dharo. His skills as an investigator have been needed for some time now but it is with Rheava’s pregnancy that he has decided to step in and offer his assistance.

Additionally he has begun to serve Rheava in an additional, more secrative capacity, to help ferrett spies out of her Court and servants. Since spying is such a common Dharo practice and many secretive truths are being leaked into the Territory, Rheava felt the need to unleash Brent and his detective skills to discover more.

What I'm Looking For...

Brent has 2 elements of his character built in already; investigation of the deaths at Court and ferretting out Spies. Additionally a third element will come to play in the next few months with a large plot piece that will circle around Rheava and Alora, for which Brent's investigative skills will be crucial.

While I've indicated that Brent is 'older' I would be willing to accept a concept that is as young as 45; simply he needs to be older than Rheava to fulfill this role. Otherwise I am very open to Brent being whatever the writer so desires. Everything is negotiable except age/experience and his investigative background.

THE TROUBLE MAKER (SECOND CIRLCE): WES FARRINGDON

OPEN

Territory
Dharo

Name
Wes Farringdon

Caste
Prince

Jewels
TBD by Writer
Plot Information:

Some members of Court are merely accepted due to their familial ties or influential connections. Wes is a gambler, a lady’s man, and an all-around bad boy. Normally such qualities would not endear him to a Queen but his familial connections have landed him a role in the Court of Dharo. The role in the Second Circle is a testament to his family’s influence in Dharo. Wes has studied and been groomed to follow in his family’s footsteps as a mover and shaker in the Dharo political scene. Though he is still young he is not impressionable and enters every situation with his eyes wide open.

What I'm Looking For...

Wes is a character that I think can provide some interesting counter weight in the Court and without being aligned to an actual Queen or purpose. He's likely bored with his role, for lack of duties, and the type to be problematic for a Queen.

If the writer so desired there can be more nefarious elements to Wes's character, and he might even link well with the Bleeding Heart and her adopted daughter. The only element that I'd like to see remain true is the fact that Wes is a free agent, unassociated with any Queen in a true meaning and likely is equally troublesome to anyone that crosses his path or interests him in the slightest. There could be a related element to an organization that is quietly in the making/discussion period if someone wanted to bring that into Wes's character (rivals to the Ramparts, foused on profit and power without the care of the Territory that the Ramparts hold).

EMMALINE HALE (Adoption): ALORA'S CONFIDANT

Plot Information:

I am very interested in seeing a version of this character written as a friend to Alora. Here is the link to Emmaline's original character sheet but I am very willing to work with the writer to create a different back story (name, etc.) if so desire. Her old sheet is here: http://forums.bloodrites.net/index.php/topic,731.0.html

The TL;DR version is that Emmaline is one of three people who Rheava introduced to Alora during her early days at Court, intending for them to be friends. They were for a time before Alora got swept away by Dirk and left her friends high and dry. Now that Alora has returned her friends are coming out of the woodwork.

What I'm Looking For...

A true confidant for Alora. Emmaline is one of the only ones of Alora's original friends (her 'triangle' they jokingly called it) who is aware of the existence of Alora's daughter.

As this knowledge will play a large element in a future plot I'm working to outline and roll out there is lots of room for Emmaline to become involved; either as an unintentioned instigator of the plot or as someone holding Alora's hand and helping her through it.

The character will need to be re-written, but I am happy for elements to shift and change as needed. Essentially only things written in IC posts need to stay the same, and the elements around her relationship with Alora.

THE STEWARD: CARTER EVESHAM

Carter Evesham

Plot Information:

NPC Character Sheet: http://forums.bloodrites.net/index.php/topic,457.0.html

Carter is the elder brother, and currently Steward, to the Queen of Dharo Rheava Evesham. Growing up they had a rocky, non-existent, relationship where they caused problems for one another and kept their distance. Rheava had little love for her brother until after she was broken and deposed as Queen, he was one of the few to step up and help her out. In addition it was his brain child to prove her innocence and get her reinstated as Queen. When that occurred she named him her Steward and though they struggle to find a comfortable relationship they work brilliantly together.

Most recently in game he has helped to rule the Territory while Rheava was in the country convalescing during her pregnancy. With the help of Alora, who he did not trust, he kept the Territory moving and Rheava's position as Queen safe. In time he came to trust Alora and the two established a strong working relationship.

What I'm Looking For...

Carter is a complex character; and a clean slate for someone to derive those complexities for themselves into a character that suits them.

As a brother he has a rocky relationship with Rheava. They've discovered that they work well together but he is the type of person who never rushed to Rheava's side during her pregnancy and was better suited to run her Court and make sure it was still standing for her return. He'd spoil the baby from afar without getting himself too involved or attached.

As a Steward he's absolutely brilliant. That kind of work is what his mind was designed for and he takes pride in the position, not just because he's the Steward of the Territory court but also because of his pride in his sister, the Queen.
Observation from Alora's POV:

She had left Alora when her older brother and Steward, Carter Evesham. At first Alora had balked at the idea of being left with the cold man who served Rheava efficiently and effectively, but had not been a member of her initial Court, but since they had been spending several months together she had learned that there were many layers to Carter. And each of them was more interesting than the one she uncovered before hand.

Plot Information:

Vance Stonehill has been Rheava's Master of the Guard since her first stint as Queen of Dharo. He is cherished by the Queen and well loved, and over time he has become a member of her family. Loyalty has cemented their relationship and he has proven himself more times than Rheava dares to count. Prior to the character previously going inactive he had a fledgling relationship building with the Spy Master, Rhiannon Devine, and was struggling with the implications of her current assignment - seducing and sleeping with Dirk Ryder to better understand, and control, the enemy of the Court.

During Rheava's first stint as Queen of Dharo he was considered to be something of a play boy. 15 years ago when Rheava was deposed as Queen Vance became scarred while aiding her escape. During her years of exile he aided her in righting her name and surviving. Together with the help of her brothers and other allies they returned her to power 10 years ago and he resumed his post as Master of the Guard.

What I'm Looking For...

Tangled has previously given permission for other characters to be adopted flat out, so I would be happy to liaise with her if the writer so desired. I'm also happy for someone to write the character from scratch and take a new angle on this obviously awesome character.

Presently Rhiannon Devine is Inactive, but the writer can liaise with Phedre concerning any plots that might have occurred between the characters since the last time that Vance was active. (I'll also help batt my eyelashes at Phe to bring Rhiannon back, cough cough.)

Original Character Sheet: http://forums.bloodrites.net/inactive/vance-stonehill/

* The classifications (Easy, Standard, Advanced) are self explanitory. Please do not claim an advanced character without first having plot options with me. Standard classified characters will likely need plotting as well but that can be done after the character has been claimed but before it's been applied.
* The additional star classification indicates if a specific Wanted Ad is needed for greater plot purpose ahead of others.
* Names are negotiable for many of the characters with a few exceptions. If you're not happy with the name or have one you prefer simply run it past me and I can confirm if it's ok. (Noted exceptions: Carter, Emmaline, Savenna)

Wanted Ad Clean up

Is this Wanted Ad still open? Please update accordingly and reply to the thread if it should remain open. Otherwise we will archive it as part of the Wanted Ad Clean up process.

Since the claim goes back to June of last year, can I take a stab at the Wartonshire Queen?

Rose, I need to re-engineer the plots behind Wes and the rest so I'm actually going to be archiving the Wanted Ad thread. HOWEVER I would LOVE to have some sort of troublemaker in the Court and would very much enjoy that!

Lene, the Queen of Wartonshire was outside of the other large arc I had planned so please go ahead with it.

Will shortly be archiving these and drafting up more current and planned out arcs and characters, promise!
