The Inactive Policy
The Staff reviewed our current Inactive Policy (which had not yet been implemented) and determined that it was too harsh to dock our writers points based on their activity status. At the same time we still understood that there is a conundrum in handling our inactive characters for efficiency purposes and ratio purposes. As such we have developed (courtesy of the mastermind of White and the assistance of Dani) the following policy regarding Inactive Characters.
This policy will take place starting in September. September will be treated as the first month of the policy and we'll proceed from there.
The Tiered Levels of Activity
- Tier 1: Active Characters (those who have written in the current month)
- Tier 2, Level 1 Inactive: Characters who have not written in 1 month.
- Tier 3, Level 2 Inactive: Characters who have not written in 2 months.
- Tier 4, Level 3 Inactive: Characters who have not written in 3 months.
When a character reaches Tier 4 they will receive a warning notification.
If a character surpasses Tier 4, as in they have not written in 4 months, then they will be
Deactivated.
* Staff members will be granted a 1 month grace period. If after 5 months they have not written with a character then the character will be Deactivated. Noted LOAs are the exception to this rule.Reactivating an Inactive Character
If a character has been deactivated due to inactivity the writer will need to go through the application process with the character again and provide a petition for an Inactive Reactivation.
The Petition:
Why did this character became inactive?
What will you do to prevent this character from becoming inactive again?
What are your plans for this character?
The Ratio Effect
If a character has been deactivated due to inactivity the author's ratio will be adjusted accordingly. It is the author's responsibility to balance their ratio before any more characters can be pushed through the application process.
No additional Dark Jewel characters will be accepted if the writer's ratio is out of balance.
