Jewel Ratio Weight for Fully Broken Characters
« on: Mar 26, 19, 11:39:30 AM »
Hello, writers!

In an effort to encourage and support the creation and play of characters that are reflective of the intended population of the Blood Rites universe, HBC has decided to alter the way we calculate the Dark to Light ratio of characters. Characters who are fully Broken at creation will now count twice toward's a player's Light Jeweled ratio, just as Landen and Jewel-less Blood characters already do.

This change will be implemented retro-actively, so that existing characters who began play as fully Broken will count twice for Light ratios. Unfortunately, there's not an easy way for us to automatically find the relevant, existing characters to apply this change. Players who have an existing character who was applied and approved as fully Broken (both the Birthright and the Descent Jewel) are invited to email HBC at hbc@bloodrites.net to request that the character's ratio weight be adjusted. Normal Jewel acquisition rules will still apply in order for characters to take advantage of this change. Jewels must be acquired as normal (General Random Roll, W-TE Birthright selection, shop purchase, etc) and then broken in order to be eligible for the adjusted ratio weight. Petitioned Jewels (or the Dark Jewel sets of some older Broken characters that were selected rather than rolled) will be ineligible.

Our hope is that this change will encourage writers to take on the challenge of exploring characters who once wielded the power of gods, but are now limited to the same Basic Craft as Jewel-less Blood, whether as a result of being a Long Lived survivor of the Purge or due to other circumstances.

Any questions about this change that arise may be addressed to HBC at hbc@bloodrites.net.

Cheers,
phinn, on behalf of HBC
