Court Roles
For a Typical Court -- May change slightly based on Territory Culture

Consort: One side of the Triangle that supports the Ruler. It is mutually exclusive with the First Escort, so there is no Consort if there is a First Escort. Reserved for a man or woman who is romantically involved with the ruler as well as formally accepting a position to serve at Court. The Consort is responsible for the happiness and wellbeing of the Ruler as well as serving as a representative of the Court wherever the Consort may go. The Consort holds equal authority of the Steward or Master of the Guard, though some Consorts can hold more due to the intimate nature of their relationship with the Ruler.

Steward: One side of the Triangle that supports the Ruler. The Steward is responsible for the paperwork side of a Court. Be it financial papers or requests for balls, the Steward manages, files, and presents the appropriate documents to a Ruler. Those who file official requests to see a Ruler may see the Steward first to determine the importance of the matter at hand.

Master of the Guard: One side of the Triangle that supports the Ruler. The main concern of the Master of the Guard is the safety of the Ruler, while the safety of the Court and the surrounding lands also fall under their purview. The Master of the Guard is responsible for the Court Guard as well as head of the Guard for the area the Court serves, be it Territory, Province or District.

First Escort:
One side of the Triangle that supports the Ruler. It is mutually exclusive with the Consort, so there is no First Escort if there is a Consort. Responsible for the happiness and wellbeing of the Ruler, but to a lesser degree than a Consort and with much less authority. The First Escort is a very respected role, but in comparison to a Consort would not hold the same sway over a Ruler. The First Escort also serves as a representative of the Court and holds similar authority of the Steward or Master of the Guard.

Court Healer: The Healer in charge of serving Court members. Can have multiple Court Healers but there is usually one who oversees the others or is the most trusted by the Ruler. Respected at Court for their services but rarely serves the Territory in a political sense.

High Priestess: A position that serves both the Court and the Priestesshood, this role is seen as the leadership and voice of Priestesses in a Territory. Due to the dual connections this is typically a respected and powerful role.

Head of the Hourglass Coven: A position that serves typically both the Court and the Coven, but occasionally when the Ruler and Coven disagree, they serve the Black Widows independently. This role is seen as the leadership and voice of Black Widows in a Territory. Due to the potential dual connections this is typically a respected and powerful role, though even if not serving the Court, the Head of the Coven is still a dangerous and respected person.

Court Seer: The Black Widow tasked with serving the Court. Does not require membership in the Coven of the Territory. Respected at Court for their services but rarely serves the Territory in a political sense.

First Circle Members: 13 men and women who are devoted members of the Court, serving the Ruler. They report directly to the ruler and do tasks with the authority of the Ruler. These positions are very respected in the Court and Territory. A First Circle member is expected to live at or near Court as their job is literally to represent and work for the Court.

Second - Fifth Circle Members: Associated with the Ruler and their Court but in decreasing degrees of authority and requirements. Filled by a maximum of 13 men and women at each level. A Second Circle member would report to the First Circle or the Steward. Third through Fifth Circle report to Second or First circle, who typically report up to the Steward. These are still respected positions but are held by a wide variety of people who may live far from the Court and only visit occasionally dependent on responsibilities.

Wards of the Court: Young members of the Court too young to serve but learning how to. Can be any sort of relation but young Queens, children, relatives of Court members and powerful youngsters often fill this role. This is not a role reserved for orphans but more any young person who the Court would be responsible for or be looking to educate directly.

Head Housekeeper: Typically a Hearth Witch in charge of dealing with maids and butlers in service to the Court. Reports to the Queen, Triangle or First Circle. While may not officially serve a Circle, can fill both this roll and a Circle Member of the Court.

Head Chef: Depending on the Court, this position may be one of great esteem. Duties include managing the kitchens, the staff, and ensuring things run smoothly in the matters of feeding the Court. Reports to the Queen, Triangle or First Circle. While may not officially serve a Circle, can fill both this roll and a Circle Member of the Court.
